# Poster Contrast Playbook

This document contains 15 types of contrast + advanced combination techniques for generating AI image prompts and poster copy.

## 1. Gender Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Breaks stereotypes of male/female behavior, swapping gender roles.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A serious man in a suit working at an office | Right: The same man in a ballet tutu performing graceful ballet.
  - Left: A delicate woman struggling to lift a water bucket | Right: The same woman driving a large truck / repairing a car.
- **Poster Copy**: Gender ≠ Behavioral boundaries | Men can be graceful, women can be tough.

## 2. Age Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Subverts expected behavior patterns for different age groups.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: An adult feeding a 5-year-old child | Right: The 5-year-old standing on a stool teaching an adult to chop vegetables.
  - Left: An 80-year-old grandma in a wheelchair, sunbathing | Right: The same grandma with dreadlocks, playing electric guitar and rocking out.
- **Poster Copy**: Age ≠ Limit of ability | You can be wild when old, a child can be a teacher.

## 3. Identity Contrast (Most effective for physical stores/personal branding)
- **Core Contrast**: Severe mismatch between professional identity and skills/behaviors.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A delivery rider handing over food | Right: The same rider speaking fluent English to a foreign customer.
  - Left: A butcher wielding a knife to sell meat | Right: The butcher breakdancing or doing calligraphy in the market.
  - Left: A painter painting a wall | Right: The painter creating a calligraphy piece on the wall.
- **Poster Copy**: Profession ≠ Label | Your side hustle is the traffic killer.

## 4. Image/Appearance Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Misalignment between a fixed character image and actual behavior.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: Ancient figures like Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang strategizing | Right: The same two wearing casual clothes, playing pool in a billiard hall.
  - Left: A corporate boss in a suit | Right: The boss with pants rolled up, plowing and planting rice in a field.
- **Poster Copy**: Image ≠ Persona | Tear off the label and be a different you.

## 5. Scene/Setting Contrast (Essential for the first 3 seconds of a video)
- **Core Contrast**: Behavior completely mismatched with the environment.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A model walking on a glamorous runway | Right: The same model in haute couture walking on a rural dirt path.
  - Left: A family dining in an elegant restaurant | Right: Someone sitting in a million-dollar luxury car eating instant noodles from a cup.
- **Poster Copy**: Setting ≠ Lifestyle | You can live the way you like, anywhere.

## 6. Object Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Interactive objects break beyond normal human categories.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A mother bathing a child | Right: An owner diligently bathing a large pig with shower gel.
  - Left: A human feeding a monkey a banana | Right: The monkey grabbing the human's snack and eating it itself.
- **Poster Copy**: Interaction object ≠ Conventional cognition | Everything is interactive.

## 7. Role Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Role reversal between humans and animals.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A human barking at a dog | Right: A dog wearing an apron, bringing slippers and opening the door for the owner.
  - Left: A human walking a dog | Right: A dog holding the leash, "walking" the owner.
- **Poster Copy**: Role ≠ Species boundary | Furry kids can be "masters of the house."

## 8. Consumption/Economic Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Severe mismatch between external consumption appearance and actual profession/economic status.
- **Viral Examples**: A plainly dressed older man buys a Bentley in cash; driving a Rolls-Royce to sell stinky tofu at a roadside stall; earning 3,000/month wearing haute couture to work; a billionaire returning to the village for farm work.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A plainly dressed auntie haggling at a market | Right: The same auntie walking into a luxury store to buy a bag outright.
  - Left: A delivery rider on an e-bike delivering food | Right: The same rider driving a sports car home after work.
- **Suitable Niches**: Physical store marketing, rural/agriculture, personal branding, luxury cars/real estate.

## 9. Before/After State Contrast (Evergreen for comeback stories)
- **Core Contrast**: Radically opposite states of the same person/thing in a short time.
- **Viral Examples**: Scruffy uncle transforms into a handsome man; dirty, messy apartment renovated to Instagram style in 1 day; overweight woman loses 50 lbs in 3 months; struggling student becomes a top scholar.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A girl with glasses in school uniform, no makeup | Right: The same girl in a gown, makeup done, walking a red carpet.
  - Left: A room piled with trash | Right: A clean, bright, influencer-style bedroom.
- **Suitable Niches**: Beauty, home renovation, fitness, inspirational, education.

## 10. Skill Level Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: An ordinary-looking person possesses顶级 professional skills (differs from "Identity Contrast" by emphasizing "skill level dominance").
- **Viral Examples**: A migrant worker playing piano at a construction site; a cleaning lady creating 3D murals; an elementary student solving university calculus problems; a security guard's calligraphy rivaling a master's.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A migrant worker in work clothes carrying bricks | Right: The same person sitting at a piano, smoothly playing "Clair de Lune."
  - Left: A cleaning lady with a mop | Right: The same lady painting a lifelike landscape on the wall.
- **Suitable Niches**: Talent, handicrafts, education, workplace.

## 11. Cognitive/Common Sense Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Overturns commonly accepted knowledge, experience, or conclusions.
- **Viral Examples**: "The more expensive the skincare, the lower the cost"; "Eat more rice to lose weight"; "The healthiest snack in the supermarket is actually this"; "Poor ancient people ate better than modern people."
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: Large text "Common Sense: Drinking more water is good for you" | Right: Red text "Truth: These 3 types of water are harmful."
  - Left: A shelf full of high-end supplements | Right: A few boxes of inexpensive vitamin C tablets beside them.
- **Suitable Niches**: Educational content, health/wellness, finance, product reviews.

## 12. Time/Space Anachronism Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: People, objects, or behaviors from different eras appear in the same time/space.
- **Viral Examples**: An ancient figure in Hanfu ordering food on a smartphone; a modern person in ancient costume shopping at a supermarket; vintage 80s items paired with modern tech; Qin Shihuang reviewing memorials on a laptop.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: An emperor in a dragon robe on his throne | Right: The same emperor holding a laptop to read memorials.
  - Left: A vintage black-and-white photo of a bicycle | Right: A modern sports car parked next to the bike.
- **Suitable Niches**: Chinese traditional culture, history, creative, comedy.

## 13. Tone/Attitude Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Tone or demeanor severely mismatched with the content or identity.
- **Viral Examples**: A Northeastern mom using the fiercest tone to say the gentlest things; a boss bowing and greeting employees daily; a teacher explaining math problems like a stand-up comedian; an aloof male heartthrob acting cute with a cat.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A mom with hands on hips, frowning, yelling | Right: Caption "If you don't eat breakfast, I'll throw this food away!" (implying concern).
  - Left: A serious boss in a suit | Right: The boss bending down to hand an employee coffee.

## 14. Object Function Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: An object's actual use completely differs from its intended design function.
- **Viral Examples**: Washing crayfish in a washing machine; using lipstick as a crayon; making a self-watering planter from a water bottle; making a sofa from old tires.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: Clothes in a washing machine | Right: Crayfish tumbling inside the washing machine.

- **Suitable Niches**: Life hacks, DIY, product reviews, comedy.

## 15. Body Type/Appearance Contrast
- **Core Contrast**: Strong conflict between a person's body type/appearance and their corresponding actions/abilities.
- **Viral Examples**: A 200lb woman gracefully dancing ballet; a slim guy working as a fitness trainer lifting a 200lb barbell; a tough-looking man raising a group of kittens; a beautiful woman working as an excavator driver.
- **Poster Visual Contrast**:
  - Left: A heavier girl at the door of a ballet studio | Right: Her on pointe, dancing Swan Lake.
  - Left: A seemingly weak, scholarly guy | Right: Him easily lifting two large dumbbells.
- **Suitable Niches**: Fitness, talent, pets, workplace.

## Advanced Techniques: Combination Contrast

Combining two or more contrasts creates stronger conflict and higher viral potential:
- Age + Skill: An 80-year-old grandma playing competitive esports.
- Identity + Consumption: A delivery rider wearing a million-dollar watch.
- Gender + Body Type: A muscular man knitting a sweater.
- Scene + Function: Making ice cream in a refrigerator in the desert.
- Age + Identity: An elementary school student CEO leading a board meeting.
- Scene + Skill: A cleaner playing the harp at a landfill.
- Image + Consumption: A person dressed as a beggar buying a villa with a credit card.
- Gender + Skill: A female driving instructor teaching racing.
- Object + Scene: Raising an alpaca as a pet in an office.
- Cognition + Object: Presenting instant noodles with Michelin-star plating.
